Terms of Service
Please read this agreement before you use Luotopia, so that you understand the scope of the service, the rules of use, and the boundaries around accounts and liability.
This is an English translation provided for your convenience. If it differs from the Simplified Chinese original, the Simplified Chinese version governs.
1. Parties and Scope
This agreement is entered into between ClosedWHU Team (hereinafter “we”, “us” or “our”) and the users of the Luotopia client and related services (hereinafter “you” or “your”). Luotopia is an all-in-one campus-life client for students and staff at Wuhan University, and is available on platforms including Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux.
By installing, opening or continuing to use this app, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to this agreement, together with the Privacy Policy and the Cross-Border Data Transfer Notice that take effect alongside it. If you do not agree, please stop using the app immediately and uninstall it.
This app operates primarily as a “client”: features such as the timetable, grades, free classrooms, library seats, sports venues, the shuttle bus, campus messages and the Luojia E-card usually send requests to Wuhan University and its partners' systems through the campus unified identity authentication (CAS) session established once you authorise a sign-in; the related business data is, in principle, cached locally on your own device rather than uploaded and hosted centrally by us.
2. Service Content and Boundaries
Depending on the features of the actual version, this app may provide, including but not limited to: timetable management and multi-source import, free-classroom search, library seat booking, sports venue booking, the Luojia E-card and payment-code entry point, campus messages, shuttle-bus information, the university calendar, academic-progress and grade lookup, weather and air quality, the wallpaper centre, local agenda and notes, AI assistant conversations, home-screen widgets, and optional Luotopia account sign-in with community-related capabilities.
The availability of the campus-side features depends on the openness of Wuhan University's academic-affairs, Smart Luojia, library, venue, shuttle-bus, message and payment systems, on changes to their interfaces, and on your account permissions. We cannot guarantee that the university's systems stay available, that their fields are complete, or that what is displayed is absolutely accurate.
Some pages embed the university's or a partner's pages through a WebView (for example Smart Luojia, email, and pages related to China Construction Bank campus-card payment). These pages are operated by third parties; their interface, rules and data handling are governed by the third party's own terms, and we only provide the entry point and the necessary session hand-off.
External resources such as the developer docs, friend links and the hot-update script repository may be reached through links. Once you follow a link, the service is the responsibility of its own operator, and this does not constitute any guarantee of third-party content by this app.
3. Accounts, Sign-In and Credentials
The campus features usually require you to authenticate through Wuhan University's CAS (cas.whu.edu.cn). The sign-in process takes place inside the system WebView; we will not ask you to re-enter your CAS password into the app's own form for upload to our servers. After successful authentication, the app stores the session cookies / tickets needed for CAS and for business systems such as academic affairs in secure on-device storage, so that it can call the university's interfaces later.
If you use a Luotopia account (registering with or signing in to the server we operate), you need to provide information such as a username, a password and an optional email address. The server issues an access token (such as a JWT), which is kept in the secure storage of your device. The first-party server that the client connects to by default is api-whu-sb.tsinbei.cn; the website and static resources are at www.whu.sb; and api.whu.sb has also been used in the past. The exact endpoints follow the actual client configuration.
We may show a “Signed-in devices” list under your account. It usually includes the device name and device identifier, the sign-in IP and its location, the app version and system version, and the runtime-environment security conclusion reported by the device itself. You can revoke the session of any of these devices at any time. For details of the related processing, see the Privacy Policy.
You should keep your device, lock screen and biometric settings secure. Losses caused by a lost device, a shared device, malware, or your own disclosure of credentials are your responsibility. You can sign out of the campus account or clear the related cache in the app at any time (subject to the feature settings).
Sensitive displays such as grades can be protected with a local privacy lock (unlocked by system biometrics or the device credential). This mechanism works only on the device and does not upload your biometric data to our servers.
4. User Conduct
You must comply with the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, with Wuhan University's rules and discipline, and with this agreement. You may not use this app for any unlawful, infringing, harassing or fraudulent activity, or for anything that endangers network security.
You may not carry out unauthorised reverse engineering, decompilation, cracking, tampering or repackaging of this app, or bypass its technical protection measures; nor may you subject the campus interfaces or this app's interfaces to high-frequency scraping, bulk automated abuse, load-based attacks, or anything that disrupts normal service.
You may not use another person's account, cookies or tokens for unauthorised access; nor may you forge a User-Agent or forge requests to impersonate the official campus client for improper purposes. For compatibility with the university's systems, this app may use a smart-campus-related client identifier in certain WebViews or requests; this is done solely for functional interoperability and does not authorise you to impersonate the official app to commit fraud.
You may not use features such as the AI assistant, messages, the forum or reviews to generate or spread content that is unlawful or non-compliant, or that infringes others' privacy or intellectual-property rights.
If we find, or have reasonable grounds to believe, that you have breached this agreement, we may restrict features, refuse service or take other reasonable measures, and we reserve the right to pursue liability in accordance with the law.
5. AI Assistant and User-Generated Content
The AI assistant feature relies on the provider, interface address, model and API key that you configure yourself. The built-in default providers may include domestic services such as SiliconFlow; you can also switch to overseas providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, xAI and Perplexity, or to a custom address.
When you use the AI, your conversation content, message history, and the local agenda summary injected to improve the experience (such as item titles, details, locations and times) are sent to the servers of the provider you choose. Do not enter sensitive information such as passwords, full identity-document numbers or payment passcodes into the conversation.
You are responsible for how you use AI output and for its consequences. AI replies may be inaccurate and do not constitute academic-affairs, legal or medical advice, or an official notice.
6. Intellectual Property and Open Interfaces
Unless otherwise stated or licensed as open source, the intellectual property in this app's name, marks, interface design, code and documentation belongs to ClosedWHU Team or the corresponding rights holders. You may not copy, distribute or use them for commercial purposes without permission.
The app client itself is not distributed as open source; however, we may provide official documentation, an open API, or community collaboration channels. When you use these open capabilities, you must follow the corresponding interface specifications and rate limits, and must not harm the stability of the service or the rights of others.
The rights in user content that you import or create through this app — such as timetables, agenda items, notes and wallpapers — remain with you or the original rights holder. You grant us the limited processing permissions necessary to provide local features to you (for example, storing and displaying them on your device).
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
This app is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: failures, interface changes or maintenance downtime of the university's or a third party's systems; network interruptions or device-compatibility problems; problems caused by your not updating the app in time; or the consequences of decisions you make — such as course selection, bookings or travel — in reliance on the displayed data.
For operations involving money or quotas — such as bookings, payments and the campus card — the university's or bank's pages and official records are ultimately authoritative. Balances, orders, seat statuses and similar information shown in this app are for reference only.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or punitive losses. If we are nonetheless held liable under law, our liability is capped at the fees you actually paid in relation to the dispute (if any); where use is free of charge, our liability is limited to what the law mandatorily requires.
8. Service Changes, Suspension and Termination
We may change, suspend or discontinue some or all features for reasons of product iteration, compliance requirements or operational needs, and we will give notice through in-app announcements, the website or other reasonable means.
You may stop using and uninstall the app at any time. After uninstalling, data in the device's local cache and secure storage may be cleared by the system's own mechanisms; for the handling of cloud account data, see the Privacy Policy.
9. Agreement Updates and Governing Law
We may update this agreement. Updated versions will be published on this site, and the “Last updated” date at the bottom of the page is authoritative. If a change affects your material rights, we will try to notify you by reasonable means. If you continue to use the app after an update, you are deemed to accept the updated content.
The formation, validity, interpretation and dispute resolution of this agreement are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding its conflict-of-laws rules). Disputes should be resolved through friendly negotiation; if negotiation fails, they will be submitted to the competent people's court at the place of our principal operations (except where the law mandatorily provides otherwise).
10. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this agreement, you can contact us through the ClosedWHU community channels (such as the ClosedWHU GitHub organisation, or the community entry points published in the app or on the website).
