Installation notes

Android

Builds are split by ABI. On an Android phone — or on Zhuoyitong, the Android compatibility layer on HarmonyOS — take the build marked "Recommended": arm64-v8a. If an older device cannot install that one, try armeabi-v7a; on an Android emulator, use x86_64. Install the APK as soon as it has downloaded. If the system warns you about an unknown source or a possible risk, allow the installation in system settings and choose to ignore the warning and continue.

Apple

iOS / iPadOS / macOS: all distributed through TestFlight. Open the TestFlight invite link to request access on an iPhone, an iPad or an Apple-silicon Mac (macOS 13.5+). A TestFlight build stays valid for 90 days and a new one ships roughly every week or two, so keeping the app updated is all it takes — turning on automatic updates is worth doing.

On macOS you can also download the DMG straight from a release (Apple silicon, unsigned build): drag Luotopia.app into Applications, then on first launch right-click → Open, or run xattr -cr /Applications/Luotopia.app in a terminal. Only ever do this for a DMG that came from this site or from an official GitHub release.

Linux

Published per architecture (x64 / arm64) and per package format. Installation examples:

# .tar.gz
tar -xzf luotopia-*-linux-x64.tar.gz && ./luotopia/luotopia
# .AppImage
chmod +x luotopia-*-linux-x64.AppImage && ./luotopia-*-linux-x64.AppImage
# .deb
sudo apt install ./luotopia-*-linux-*.deb
# .flatpak
flatpak install --user ./luotopia-*-linux-*.flatpak

Needs a reasonably recent glibc and GTK3.

HarmonyOS

Sideloading on HarmonyOS NEXT is difficult and nothing here is actively maintained, so the .hap does not ship with every release. When a release does include luotopia-*-harmonyos-arm64-signed.hap, sideload it by following the HARMONYOS-SIDELOAD.txt file from the same version.

Platform limits mean some features are hidden or reduced on HarmonyOS.

Advanced users / package managers

For anyone who prefers installing from a CLI and upgrading reproducibly. These artifacts ship with every GitHub release.

Scoop

Add the official bucket, then install (x64 / arm64 is matched automatically):

scoop bucket add luotopia https://github.com/ClosedWHU/Luotopia-Dist
scoop install luotopia
scoop update luotopia # upgrade

The manifest is built on the portable zip; you can also install once from the scoop-luotopia.json attached to a release.

Homebrew

Add the official tap, then install:

brew tap ClosedWHU/luotopia
# Linux (Linuxbrew, x64 / arm64)
brew install luotopia
# macOS (Apple silicon, DMG cask)
brew install --cask luotopia

The formula and the cask in the tap share a name: brew install luotopia always resolves to the Linux-only formula, so on macOS you have to pass --cask. To upgrade, use brew upgrade luotopia (add --cask on macOS).

Nix

The flake provides x86_64-linux and aarch64-linux packages:

nix profile install github:ClosedWHU/Luotopia-Dist

AUR (Arch Linux)

The prebuilt package updates automatically with each release:

yay -S luotopia-bin

The AUR package downloads the portable archive that matches your architecture, x64 or arm64.

winget

Until the manifest is merged into the official community source, you can verify the draft manifest from a release locally:

# after downloading winget-ClosedWHU.Luotopia*.yaml
winget install --manifest .\path\to\manifests\folder

Once it is merged into microsoft/winget-pkgs:

winget install ClosedWHU.Luotopia

The current manifest points at the portable zip by default.

You can also go straight to GitHub Releases for every past version and its release notes.
